1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Trove (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including visitors, free users, and paid subscribers.
2. Description of Service
Trove is an AI-powered bookmark management platform that allows users to save, organise, and retrieve web content using natural language queries. The Service integrates with third-party AI assistants (including ChatGPT and Claude) via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and offers free and paid subscription tiers.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are accessing the Service on behalf of a business or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
4. Account Registration
To access most features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:
Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
Maintain and promptly update your account information
Keep your login credentials confidential
Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
5. Subscription Plans and Payments
The Service is offered across three tiers:
Free Tier — available at no charge. Includes unlimited bookmarks, MCP connection to ChatGPT and Claude (user provides own API tokens), AI auto-organisation (summary, source extraction, tagging), basic search, one public collection, and web capture via browser extension.
Basic Tier — a paid subscription billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis. Includes all Free Tier features plus AI-native natural language search within Trove, bulk import from Raindrop, Notion, and browser exports, ongoing sync from connected sources, collection analytics, enhanced publishing with custom themes and multiple collections, access to browse and search other users’ public collections, priority AI processing, and unlimited public collections.
Pro Tier — a paid subscription billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis. Includes all Basic Tier features plus free access to specific premium curated collections of content, higher AI usage limits than the Basic Tier (set to reasonable usage thresholds as published on our pricing page), and other expanded premium features as introduced from time to time.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. All fees are stated in USD and are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or at our sole discretion.
We reserve the right to modify pricing or plan features with at least 14 days’ notice to existing subscribers. Changes to AI usage limits within the Pro Tier will be communicated via in-app notice or email.
6. Cancellation and Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to paid features until that date. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, with or without notice.
7. User Content
"User Content" means any URLs, bookmarks, collections, notes, or other content you submit to the Service. You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the Service.
You represent and warrant that:
You own or have the right to submit all User Content
Your User Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
Your User Content does not violate any applicable law
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service without permission
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code
Use the Service to send unsolicited communications (spam)
Impersonate any person or entity
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
Use the Service to infringe third-party copyright or other intellectual property rights
9. Intellectual Property
All content, features, functionality, trademarks, and branding of the Service (excluding User Content) are owned by Trove or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for your personal or internal business purposes.
10. AI-Generated Content
The Service uses artificial intelligence (including OpenAI) to generate summaries and tags for your bookmarks. AI-generated content is provided for convenience only. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated output. You are responsible for verifying AI-generated information before relying on it.
11. Third-Party Integrations
The Service integrates with third-party platforms including ChatGPT and Claude via MCP. Your use of those integrations is subject to the terms and privacy policies of the respective third parties. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.
12. Public Collections
If you choose to make a collection public, that collection and its contents will be visible to anyone with the link. You are solely responsible for the content of public collections. We reserve the right to remove public collections that violate these Terms or applicable law.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TROVE AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Trove and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.
If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, with proceedings conducted in English. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
17. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
19. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
