Connect ChatGPT

Connect your Trove library directly with ChatGPT using Trove’s secure MCP endpoint.

These steps need a paid ChatGPT subscription. Free accounts can only use plugins listed in ChatGPT’s plugin store, and Trove is not listed there yet, so a free account cannot complete this walkthrough.

Add Trove as a custom plugin

1

Open Plugins

In the ChatGPT sidebar, select Plugins.

Open Plugins

2

Add a new plugin

Click the + button next to Search plugins.

Add a new plugin

3

Enter Trove’s details

Name it Trove MCP. Under Connection, keep Server URL selected and paste the Trove MCP endpoint above. Leave Authentication set to OAuth.

Enter Trove’s details

4

Acknowledge the risk notice

In the same dialog, ChatGPT warns that custom MCP servers introduce risk, because OpenAI hasn’t reviewed them. Tick I understand and want to continue, then click Create.

5

Sign in with Trove

ChatGPT shows Add Trove MCP to ChatGPT. Click Sign in with Trove MCP and sign in to your Trove account.

Sign in with Trove

6

Approve the connection

Trove lists what ChatGPT will and won’t be able to do with your library. Check the account shown is yours, then click Approve.

Approve the connection

7

Try it

Start a new conversation and ask a Trove question, such as “What tools does Trove have?”

From ChatGPT Plugins

Trove is pending listing in the ChatGPT Plugins directory. Until then, use the custom plugin steps above.

Once listed: in ChatGPT, open Plugins, search for Trove, click Connect, sign in to Trove and authorize.

Ask ChatGPT what you have saved, or browse the AI tools Trove gives ChatGPT. For repeatable workflows, add a file from the Skills library.
